It is a system where revenue is shared between one website (merchant) selling the products and the advertiser. The advertiser’s website need not have his or her own products. They earn commission income by diverting the clients and prospects to the merchant’s website. The affiliate receives a fee based either on the traffic diverted to the merchant’s website, or sales from that traffic or both.
